YOUTH FORMATION

SIXTH GRADE THROUGH TWELFTH GRADE

Youth Formation at Grace Episcopal Church is about continuing to build upon the foundations of their childhood - identifying key foundations of our faith, aspects of their spirituality, and pillars of the church -  as they navigate their own world in relationship to these gifts of our tradition.

Through programs that are social and spiritual, engaging and introspective, Grace Church seeks to continue to nourish the faith and nurture the lives of our middle and high school youth, affirming the inherent worth and dignity, celebrating the wholeness of their humanity, and supporting the fullness of their living.

YOUTH GROUP

Youth Group is offered to students in sixth grade through twelfth grade, and meets every other Sunday at 12:00pm in the Youth Room, located on the Lower Level.

Each week includes lunch, reflection, and time for community building, while also creating the space to ask questions, discuss answers, grow in community, and grow in our faith. While many Sundays take place in the Youth Room, others occur in the context of a service project, social outing, or retreat time away.

Whether you have never been to Youth Group at Grace Church before, or you were practically born here, each and every youth has a place of belonging and care, celebration and affirmation in our community of support and connection!

Ministry Involvement

Opportunities to Participate and Serve

With growing into our Youth Programs at Grace Church comes the invitation and opportunity to participate in the broader range of ministries, activities, and offerings.

Grace Youth are invited and encouraged to serve in the multi-generational ministries of Grace Church including as Acolytes, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, members of the Grace Choir, Fellowship activities, and various Outreach and Social Justice efforts.  If you are a young person who is interested in ANY of the ministries of Grace, let us know.

Our clergy and lay leaders will help welcome you and your gifts into the many ways in which we serve in this place and beyond.

SUMMER EXPERIENCE

Every summer our youth share in the annual "Summer Experience," during which they participate in several days of service projects and social activities. Designed as an overnight experience over multiple nights, the experience is open to all middle and high school students who are interested in growing deeper as a community and exploring the ways in which our faith and our tradition inspire us to connect with one another and our world.

As we continue to develop youth ministries at Grace, we’re looking forward to pilgrimage opportunities, retreats away, and immersion experiences which create space and time for developing and deepening young people’s sense of themselves, awareness of and care for our neighbors, and the holiness with which God holds us all.

Diocesan Summer Camps and other programs are also open to Grace children, youth and adults.
