Via Media: An Episcopal / Anglican way of Being Christian
Were you the kid who got in trouble in Sunday School for asking too many questions? Come and join the rest of us! Wednesdays, Sept. 17 to Nov. 5, 6-8 p.m.

What is Via Media?

*A Latin phrase meaning ‘middle way.’ It describes how we reconcile or hold in tension conflicting views on various religious questions—believing that what we share in common is far more important than the things on which we may disagree.

*A video and discussion course presenting the Good News of God in Christ in a contemporary Anglican context

*It celebrates who we are as American Anglicans and invites others to “come and see”

*It doesn't offer easy answers to the hard questions 21st century seekers are asking … models in the video and table discussions how answers are found in conversation and community. Enriched by differences, our faith is enlivened by our challenges.

What is a typical meeting like?

*Fellowship, beginning with a simple meal ($5 suggested donation)

*A video on the week’s topic, showing committed people of faith sharing their perspectives as Episcopalians

*A chance to go deeper into dialogue with each other in small-group table discussions—linking the experiences of the people in the video with your own
a simple closing liturgy

Who is invited?

*Anyone who is curious to learn more about the Episcopal way of being Christian . . .

*Anyone who isn't sure about some of the details in our creeds and wants a chance to think about them more deeply, in community with others . . .

*Anyone who feels strong in their faith but sometimes has difficulty finding the words to express it.

*Anyone! Via Media is not limited to members of Grace.

How can I sign up?

*Watch for registration forms available soon in the Sunday bulletin and online. In the meantime, for more information contact the church office at 616-396-7459.
